Improving PCB Development

Samsung SDI is a global market leader in the high technology and environmental battery industry. The company moved from digital display control circuits to battery control circuits, requiring a different approach to new electronic designs and related PCB manufacturing technologies. After doing an evaluation, working closely with the Altair Team, they selected PollEx as it could match their objective to manage and enhance the process from design to manufacturing. With PollEx Samsung SDI successfully collaborates from a central solution saving 6M USD a year thanks to a major reduction of design iterations and revision checks. They started using PollEx for PCB design review, and verification by using DFM to detect manufacturing faults in the early design stage. Later they expanded the use with DFE to detect electrical failures earlier in the design process. And they are planning to start using PollEx Solvers for signal integrity, power integrity and thermal analysis.
